Safe Schools, Successful Students: 15 Student Classroom Cap

In the summer, Education Critic Sarah Hoffman released her Safe School, Successful Students, a 15 point plan to keep our schools safe. Unfortunately, Jason Kenney and Education Minister Adriana LaGrange rejected the majority of our report and failed to prepare for the second wave and forced the closure of junior high and high schools after 12 weeks of classes.

We still stand behind every point in our plan, but the 15 student classroom cap could have reduced the tens of thousands of students and staff that needed to isolate.

The UCP government needs to protect Alberta schools in 2021 by implementing a 15 student classroom cap, as well as the other recommendation in our Safe Schools, Successful Students report.
