South Edmonton Hospital Petition

To: Legislative Assembly of Alberta, in the Legislature Assembled

The UCP government has canceled the South Edmonton Hospital. The government announced two towers that would be built at other hospitals in Edmonton. This announcement did not include a budget or timeline.

The number of Edmontonians has doubled since the last community hospital was opened in 1989.

We need a new community hospital in South Edmonton now.

We, the undersigned residents of Alberta, petition the Legislative Assembly to urge the Government of Alberta to:

  • recognize the importance of a South Edmonton Hospital project, at 127th Street SW in Edmonton (land already owned by the province), and
  • consult with, and listen to Albertans concerns, First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples, as well as Residents of south Edmonton, for a South Edmonton Hospital project where emergency services and health care are needed today.

Please note that a response cannot be guaranteed.
