David Shepherd, NDP Critic for Health, made the following statement:
“Today marks another record number of variant cases in Alberta, and another day approaching 700 cases in total.
“We continue to call for full disclosure of the internal modelling, data, and written analysis from Dr. Deena Hinshaw that Jason Kenney has access to.
“If that modelling shows this upward trend will continue to the point where renewed public health restrictions are required, families and businesses deserve all of the notice and warning they can get.
“I am also deeply concerned to hear confirmation that variant cases are spreading in Alberta schools, and that one in every six schools in our province is on alert or experiencing an outbreak. Jason Kenney should be taking immediate action to prevent further spread in our schools to keep them open safely for the rest of the school year.”
