UCP MLA says NDP is a ‘reign of terror’: extreme rhetoric getting out of control

EDMONTON – For all of Jason Kenney’s talk about improving decorum, the UCP’s rhetoric is out of control.

Today in Question Period, UCP MLA Ric McIver says the NDP has been a “reign of terror” even as the province has seen 90,000 new jobs in the last year and the province has the fastest growing economy in the country.

France had an actual “Reign of Terror” in 1793-1794, where the government killed more than 17,000 by guillotine.[1]

Just two weeks ago, UCP MLA Grant Hunter compared the NDP’s election to the devastating tsunami of 2004 that killed more than 230,000 people. He had to apologize.[2]

Jason Kenney promised “civility” and “decorum” from his UCP caucus. His MLAs clearly didn’t get the memo.
