Response to UCP government fall agenda

Christina Gray, Alberta’s New Democrat House Leader, issued the following statement in response to the UCP government’s fall agenda:

“The UCP government’s legislative agenda for this fall misses the mark and makes it clear that they do not have Albertans’ priorities in mind.

“The UCP’s fall agenda needs to better reflect the real priorities identified by Albertans. Albertans have been clear: they care about addressing the cost of living and affordability, better health care, a stronger education system, creating quality jobs, and a strong economy.

“We're very concerned about back-to-work legislation for teachers. Alberta's New Democrats will fiercely oppose this potential action by the government, especially when the focus needs to be on properly funding public education in the first place.

“Alberta’s New Democrats remain laser focused on the real issues that matter to Albertans. We’re heading into the fall session ready to fight for practical solutions that improve everyday life.”
