NDP Labour & Immigration Critic Christina Gray issued the following statement:

"Today, we have learned that more than 200 Albertans may have had their private, personal information compromised when their employer applied on their behalf for the Critical Worker Benefit. This is a serious technical error, and yet another indication that this UCP government is still not able to deliver support programs without creating additional distress for Albertans.

“The Emergency Isolation Support Benefit was broken when it launched last April, and the web portal for scheduling vaccine appointments was also broken at launch last week.

“For the Critical Worker Benefit the UCP had nine months to design and implement a proper rollout. There is no excuse for these repeated technical issues.  Albertans have lost trust in the UCP government's ability to competently launch basic functions."
