EQUINOR: MLA GANLEY

NDP Energy Critic Kathleen Ganley issued the following statement regarding Equinor closing its Calgary office and moving to St. John’s:

“This is more proof that the UCP’s $4.7 billion handout to profitable corporations has failed.

“Even before the pandemic, 50,000 jobs were lost, investment fell, the economy stalled, and companies such as Encana packed up and moved to the US.

“Despite the failure of the UCP’s signature economic policy to produce any results for Albertans, or even create a single job, they doubled down on it.

“Now we see yet another company moving its operations out of the province and taking jobs with them.”
