Christina Gray, NDP Official Opposition Critic for Labour, made the following statement in response to the statement from Finance Minister Travis Toews on today’s arbitration decision:

“It’s downright insulting that Finance Minister Toews is musing about layoffs for Alberta’s hard working and dedicated civil servants.

“Premier Jason Kenney and the UCP are handing out $4.7 billion to profitable corporations in a failed experiment that hasn’t created a single job. Now, they're making threats about firing those still lucky enough to find themselves with a paycheque under this current Government.

“In all, Alberta has lost 50,000 jobs since Jason Kenney was elected and his Government continues to fail the people of this province.”
