David Shepherd, NDP Critic for Health, made the following statement:

“While I am pleased to see today's investment in medical imaging, this funding is long overdue. Tyler Shandro has been ragging the puck for more than 18 months on this issue, leaving Albertans in desperate need of MRIs and CT scans in limbo. The UCP's refusal to maintain proper funding saw massive increases to wait times.

“I have heard from radiologists and lab technicians across the province who have been calling for greater investment for months to help them do their jobs and yet today's plan still lacks detail on how it addresses concerns around capacity and resources. Tyler Shandro has lost so much trust. He owes these frontline health workers better answers than he gave today.”
