Shannon Phillips is an active member of the Lethbridge community, and has provided strong representation as MLA for Lethbridge-West since 2015.

Shannon knows what matters most to every day Albertans. As MLA she applies ten years of experience in journalism and economic policy analysis to understand how decisions will affect middle- and lower-income families. She recognizes that it is vital to build a strong and diverse economy that also protects the public services that people rely on.

Through her roles as Minister of Environment and Parks and the Minister Responsible for the Climate Change Office, Shannon demonstrated that taking action on climate change must go hand in hand with economy to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for Alberta.

Shannon received a Bachelor of Arts with honours in political science in 1999, and in 2002 she completed her Master of Arts, both at the University of Alberta. She also spent five years as a member of the board of directors for the Womanspace Resource Centre, a nonprofit organization that provides resources, referrals and education to women and their communities.

Shannon resides with her two sons in Lethbridge, Alberta.
