As our economic outlook is improving, the task of crunching numbers for a new 2017 Alberta budget requires the open dialogue between our government and our Albertan stakeholders. This input ensures that we deliver a budget that best reflects Alberta's concerns and priorities.
Community members were men and women of all ages and occupations that are passionate about the future of our great city and province.
As MLA for Red Deer North, my Red Deer South counterpart and I are pleased that Red Deer was chosen for the consultation process on Jan. 17. As part of the current series of small-scale meetings, stakeholders were invited to chat openly with Finance Minister Joe Ceci. Red Deer North and South wish to thank all of the small business owners, schools, not-for-profit organizations, local community leaders and family groups that participated in the 2017 budget consultation.
These opportunities enable our government to look to the true diversity of stakeholders' needs and channel the input and feedback into a budget that truly benefits and represents the priorities of all Albertans. Community members were men and women of all ages and occupations that are passionate about the future of our great city and province.
But we want to hear from even more Albertans.
Two telephone town halls with Minister Ceci and Premier Notley are scheduled as follows: Northern Alberta on Jan. 30 and Southern Alberta on Jan. 31. Albertans with home lines will be dialed in directly, while those with cellular phones can sign up for a call. Details will be released closer to the event dates.
Albertans are also encouraged to submit their input online at budget. alberta.ca. The online feedback form closes Feb. 3. Additionally, both MLAs are available to hear your thoughts on Budget 2017. For Red Deer North residents, please call my constituency office at 403-342-2263 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. For Red Deer South residents, please contact the constituency office at 403-340-3565 or email at reddeer.south@assembly. ab.ca.
