Isabella Rios

Artist Bio: Bella Ríos is a Calgarian born musician and multifaceted artist. Through her travels and exploring her roots, she founded her self titled band and The Katibala Music Project, a musical and cultural heritage project that in collaboration with Takklidi Art, offers an authentic insight into Northern Gnawa music along with its respective customs that are seemingly parallel to the musical and folkloric traditions of Cuba. Featuring the talents of Maalem Zouhair Afailal and Colba Music, the Katibala Music Project has created an intricate fusion of the mystical Gnawa repertoire with Cuban and Afro-Cuban rhythms, Jewish liturgical music and, naturally, jazz.

Tamarack Cunningham

Artist Bio: People keep calling Tamarack Cunningham a folk singer, which isn’t exactly wrong. Drawing on diverse genre influences, Tamarack makes loud, energetic music for quiet, "happy" instruments. It’s catchy, musically ambitious indie-prog-folk. Probably best known for playing traditional métis music at the Flying Canoë Volant festival in the Cunningham Family Band, Tamarack has a varied history that includes Melafrique (afro-pop), Birch Island (soul/folk) and Day of the Robot (garage rock). His music sounds a little bit like all of these things, and not very much like any of those things. Tamarack lives in Edmonton and rides his bicycle a lot.

Nico Tobias

Artist Bio: "The Nico Tobias Band" are a bunch of classic rock  lovin', outlaw country playin' fools from Edmonton,  Alberta, Canada. The song “Anthracite"- a grimy wink at  Johnny Cash and Alberta history - won the 2018  Canadian Songwriting Competition for Canadians. As  the first track on the band's 2019 album "No More Mr.  Nico Guy" and it also redefined the music they would  play as a train beat, chicken pickin' part of Edmonton's  country music revival. The band kicked off 2020 as part  of Exclaim! Magazines Class of 2020, and they released  their second EP “Berta Badland Buffalo Boy Band” in March.
